Client: Downer Posco JV Inspection conducted: Coal loader structure Moolarben coal mine 2016
Job details: CMS were engaged to perform 3rd party coating inspection works on the newly constructed coal loader terminal at Moolarben coal mine near Mudgee NSW. The projects main contractors were a joint venture between Downer and Posco and involves the new construction and expansion of another coal loader terminal at the mine.
A survey was conducted on the coal loader frames that were coated in High build epoxy, to ensure the specified thickness was met. All areas that were not within spec were overseen by CMS to be brought above the specified minimum. Any areas where the coating was broken down from the installation process were also rectified, ensuring that the coating system will protect the asset for the life it was intended.
