CMS have been engaged to perform 3rd party coating inspection on the offsite fabrication and coating of numerous large pipe spool packages awarded by UGL to a local fabrication and paint facility in Sydney.

These items were being fabricated at a fabrication facility in Sydney, for the ICHTHYS onshore project in the Darwin region. The Project is expected to produce 8.9 million tonnes of LNG and 1.6 million tonnes of LPG per annum, along with more than 100,000 barrels of condensate per day at peak.

Gas and condensate from the Ichthys Field will be exported to onshore facilities for processing near Darwin via an 890-kilometre pipeline. Most condensate will be directly shipped to global markets from a floating production, storage and offloading facility permanently.

CMS helped the successful completion of this project by overseeing the fabrication and coatings of the pipe spools at the offsite fabrication yard for approximately 18 months, and was present daily to ensure strict specification guidelines were met.

CMS were extremely privileged to be a part of the construction side of this project, and happy to help the future of this country with the quality infrastructure it has left behind.
